Frequently Asked Questions
Will my jewellery be made of 'real' silver?
Absolutely. All of our charm/pendants are 99.9% silver, called FIne Silver. This has a much higher silver content than Sterling Silver (92.5% silver, 7.5% other metals such as Copper). All of our chains, keyfobs, cufflink backs etc are all made from Sterling Silver which gives them greater strength.
What happens now?
To take a print we need to meet with you for a casting session. All we ask is that your child's fingernail's are neat as long nails sometimes catch the clay. We are based in Hale, near Altrincham in Cheshire and are happy to travel locally. Alternatively, why not organise a group of friends together and we will travel to you?
How long will be order take?
From taking your print we would normally aim to have your jewellery with you within 14 working days, although if your order is urgent please contact us as we are often able to accomodate last minute requests.
What can be written on the jewellery?
Usually we write a name on the front face, and child's age on the back. However, as long as it fits, we are able to accomodate most requests to suit you.
Are there age limits?
For best results, we prefer children to be over 4 or 5 months. This is simply to allow their fingerprint pattern to develop fully as very young babies do not have full fingerprints.
How is payment accepted?
We accept cash or cheque. Full payment must be made at time of order (usually at the casting session).
I'd like something for a gift?
That's fine. All our jewellery is presented in stunning two tone jewellery boxes, ready for you to gift wrap. If we are sending the jewellery out to you, please let us know in advance and we'll make sure that the packaging is generic so won't spoil any suprise!
I run a group - would you come to one of our meetings?
Yes of course! We are happy to come of a group, or simply a group of friends in the comfort of your own home. Please contact us for more details.
How do I look after my jewellery?
As the jewellery is 99.9% silver it will becoming lightly scratched over time as silver is a soft metal. We would always recommend a soft polishing cloth to preserve the original look and feel of the charm/pendant. As Chorline can damage silver we always recommend removing silver jewellery before swimming or using a hot tub.
